fantastic update. i love the idea of a wizarding mafia! i hope harry doesn't go too ballistic, hopefully with hermione being there his confrontaion with lucius will not result in any lasting injuries on either side. kudos to you for a wonderful (informative) chapter.

Very much enjoyed the Mafia references and all of the work you did to establish the bloodlines.

Oh my gosh, this is pure GENIUS. I can't even imagine how much work and creativity you put into setting the absolutely perfect scene with exemplary supporting historical evidence--amazing!!!!! I've been waiting and waiting, checking every day for an update...I know it's only been a few days, but I miss this story so much. It's wonderful!

Ah ha! How marvelous! A Mafia subplot, I'm now that much more engrosed in the story for my ability to relate. I'm half Italian, from Sicily most pointedly, which if your familiar with Italy, is where the Mafia originated, back when it had to do with farming and produce. Of course, I'M not Mafia, but my father's half of the family is, my Nonno moved our strain of the family here to Canada on business. Something about transporting goods... totally innocent, I'm sure.

ANYWAY! The wizarding mafia is a novel idea, and you've planted the seed of a plot in my own mind.

Can't wait for the next chapter. Poor Lucius, having just recovered from his breakdown... only to be assaulted by Harry. Maybe Ginny will finish the letter and whatever juicy information it contains in time to hightail it over to the Malfoy residence and save him from her boyfriends wrath. One can hope, anyway.

Just loved how intense Draco and Hermione's lovemaking was. Wow, you wrote that so amazingly well.

The descent into Lucius's emotions was amazingly well written. So intense, so incredible. I just wanted to reach out and hold him. To see him crack like that was gripping, and so realistic.

Your writing style is wonderful, and this chapter was well worth the read.

Lush, positively lush. I love the way the relationships are developing. Thanks for Lucius backing off from Hermione, even if a bit regretfully, at Draco's request: I'm glad for his insight about his son. And HAH! I KNEW Narcissa had to come into the scene, and whew, what scenes. So, is her ring a decoy? And how did she know who to go after after the injuries to her menfolk? Maybe a tie-in to her theoretical fiance? And what about Emma? is she a red herring, or will she have a serious role to play in the tale? And how powerful, Lucius' breaking down, all the repressed emotions bursting forth, for him & Draco to see and deal with. You're doing a great job with this. I cannot wait to see what happens next.

I think that Lucius should end up with Ginny, even though he loves Hermione. I think Draco would give Hermione up if he knew that his father truly loved her. I hope that everyone talks about their feelings especially now that Kingsley has told Hermione that Lucius is Crucioing himself from pent up anger and other feelings. I can't wait to read more to see what happens.
