Dear God...I just sat and read this whole story in one go, and...God. I just...bleh. I don't think I can describe my feelings on this story, because they're so complex. But I'll try (though prepare yourself...this may become unbearably long). :)
I will admit that this story started out kind of OOC to me, and I wasn't entirely sure I could get past that and continue. But I'm a total sucker for Snarry, and thought, "What the hell?" and ultimately kept going. And God, I'm so glad that I did.
This is one of those stories that's had me continuously going back and forth without ever quite making up my mind. Despite feeling that the beginning was a bit OOC, I was still digging the Snarry. Therefore, when Snape decided to go and get married without telling Harry, I was pissed. Royally. And I was determined to hate this new "Mrs. Snape." However, once you introduced her character a bit more, I really started to like her (which was also helped along by the fact that she and I share the same name - and it's even spelled the same!). I found her sweet and likable and really loved how much she doted on Harry. So when Harry and Snape started finding themselves "together" more often, I was torn; on one hand, the fangirl in my brain was going, "YAY FOR TEH SNARRYZ!!!" and, really, I was still a bit peeved that Snape had been with Harry and then had gotten married to this woman without telling him and had then completely blown him off, and continued to repeatedly do so. But at the same time, I really felt for Caitlin, and you made her so goddamn likable that the other half of my brain was telling Harry to stop trying to turn Snape into an adulterer and telling Snape to stop being such a douche and quit cheating on his wife. Then with Harry being preggers and all, I was really rooting for Harry and Caitlin individually, and was mostly just pissed off at Snape himself. But then you'd throw in another Snarry moment, or a nice Snape/Caitlin moment, and I would, once again, be going back and forth between rooting for the Snarry and Snape/Caitlin, respectively. By the time I started to suspect Caitlin of being a Death Eater, I was just hoping it would be revealed that she was so that Snape would leave her once and for all and he could finally just be with Harry and help me make up my mind. Of course, then I realized that the only reason Caitlin got to be the way she was was because of the miscarriages and that, perhaps if Snape had been a more doting husband and hadn't been running around with Harry, or would have never married her in the first place, it wouldn't have come to this and she would've been normal and sweet like always, and then I had to rethink my position again. GAH, it was ridiculously frustrating, and very hard on my brain!
Basically, all I can say is you've managed to weave together a truly wonderful story, not simply because of it's plot or storyline or what have you (though those are admittedly fantastic as well), but because of how much you've gotten me worked up while reading this. I've become so engaged in this story (and so peeved at times, mind you) that it's simply ridiculous. This truly is a wonderful, fantastic story. Your characterization is wonderful, too, and your ability to basically keep your characters in-canon in an extremely out-of-canon story is brilliant. I also love how you've managed to remove certain elements from the story and still make it plausible as well. It's odd, because I had thought that cutting Ron and Hermione out so much would seem strange and OOC, but it doesn't at all...it's actually very fitting, and I quite like it this way. And Dumbledore - I love how you've allowed him to remain blind through most of this, but still show that he can lash out at times and still do what he thinks needs to be done. Too often in these fics, he's either ridiculously supportive or obstinately opposed to the point that it's just unbelievable, but you've managed to strike a good balance here somewhere in the middle, and have such made him seem more in-canon as well.
I could probably write more telling you how awesome you are and how much I've really enjoyed this story, but I think I've already written a novel and I'm sure you've probably already grown bored with this review, so I'll just shut up, yeah? To sum it up, you've managed to put together a wonderful story full of fantastic characterization, and have this amazing ability to always make me question if what I want from the character's is really what's best. I do hope you update soon, because that cliffie at the end was awful, and I absolutely need to find out what happens next. :) Overall, fantastic work - one of the better fics I've read in a while!

OH MY GOSH! I hope Severus is okay! Gah, I really would like to see Caitlin meet a horrible torturous end. And for Severus to recover, and then have to romance poor Harry. And for Harry to have an easy birth (I know it's mpreg, but man, he's suffered enough, right? *g*). Great update!

I have been reading and reading again your fabulous story, normally I am not that fond of Mpreg but I like the way it is treated in your story, not like a central point but like something that can happen when there is frustated love. I cannot wait to see Severus' reaction to all this mess, and I hope he will stop to run away from hapiness! I will not say to hurry up because I like the stories to be well written and well thought, but I will be waiting for the next chapter!

Well, I'm pleased that the twists you've included are realistic and believable. Some authors, who shall remain nameless, seem to have problems not turning their stories into soap operas. When there's a goal in mind but the writers seem to be trying to find the longest, most convoluted way to get there. Life has it's ups and downs but there's a point where it can get to be too much. That being said, if you kill Snape I will hate you forever. And ever and ever.
Moving on to a more general comment, I really like this story. I started reading it awhile ago and I've always loved the realism in your story. The characters are flawed, but realistically, not done in a way that seems caricature-ish. I think the best is that Harry's son isn't perfect beautiful and I liked that. While it's nice to have beautiful babies, many aren't. I think it's especially evident when Harry has a baby with Snape. They NEEEEEEVER have his nose, so it's nice. Anyways, I'm going to just quite my rambling and end with, I hope to see an update from you soon.
