Two more chapters read..."Sacrificial love" sounds a bit scary; I'm concerned about what Dumbledore has in mind now.

Snape is mean to get her all heated up and then veto any 'kinky stuff' - but that was veeery hot foreplay in that scene. Interesting that he wanted the white nightdress, but I wonder what he wants Valerie to do to 'punish' him for Lily?

Will read the rest tonight.

Oh WOW, I love that he took her to the playground where he met Lily. How poignant; I've never seen that done in another story.

So he is genuinely smitten with Valerie then? I love the idea of Snape snogging in the back row of a cinema; if only the students could see him! I don't think I've ever seen you do romance before - twas very nice!

Anyway, next chapter.

Ah, I was wondering if the choice of film would turn out to be significant. Dramatic! The idea of Dementors breeding is just really gross as well, ew!

So she doesn't see him as heroic yet - I wonder if she will change her mind.

I'll r&r the next chapters when I get another minute xx.

So Snape doesn't see himself in a paternal role - though I can see why Valerie might see it that way.

It's interesting that he sees her as a symptom of what is going wrong in the wizarding world under Voldemort; is he going to try to 'turn' her and tell her the truth about himself...hmmm, there are still lots of ways this story could go.

Psychologically a fascinating chapter - we get so much background to explain parts of Snape and Valerie's characters. I see what they are doing as really quite positive - Valerie had cut herself to feel control after her experience of childhood incest but now Snape is teaching her to take a more meaningful and productive control, by practising healing herself. Very interesting - Dark Arts used to neutralise a dark past.

And you have Snape murdering his father! That's a step further than I went with having him imprisoned indefinitely. Is there any Oedipal element to Snape's relationship with his mother, I wonder?

Really a very interesting chapter indeed - it throws open all kinds of future possibilities for them as a couple.

He doesn't really want Valerie to be good, surely! He was deluding himself over Lily for all those years; I hope he wakes up to himself.

I liked reading about them sharing a bit of intimacy and affection - and that cake sounds scrumptious. I might try and make it myself!

How funny, PP, I thought that about the spider while I was reading it. It also was a neat way to bring home the reality of Snape's life - having to suspect everyone and everything and trust nobody. I liked the image of him as someone out of a swat team, pressing back against the wall with his wand drawn. Spinners End is well brought to life in this chapter.
