Very interesting ending, that brought the focus back to the fact not that the Malfoys purchased her, but that she was sold by the Ministry for the "greater good" and that they remain a "poster family". I like that she still thinks of Ron when she sees Harry and Ginny, and that Draco and Hermione's relationship remains fundamentally unchanged.

A couple of slight errors--Hermione was 18 when she conceived, and probably barely 19 when Scorpius was born, so she shouldn't still be 28. And it's unlikely Ginny got pregnant within a year of Hermione since Ginny's a year behind.

I reread some of the first chapter again to see what Earhart's like. The letter from him and his condescending tone are very nice detailing.

Wow, that ending was definitely different. Angst all the way through. Kudos for doing something a bit different, even though it wasn't sweet as much as devious, underhanded, possessive, and all, lol, it sure was an interesting read.

I weep for a reality this stark and cruel. No hope. No end. No happiness.

Fictional character, Hermione, I hope your marriage improves and your world widens. I'd hate to think in this day and age a woman feels this owned by a man even in someone's imagination. Why even wake up in the morning if this is the best that can happen?

I think you gave your story the best ending possible. Not really happy, but "realistic". Hermione has arranged herself with the reality of her life, even though it is not ideal and she definitely is a victim of both the Ministry and her husband. She survives and makes sure, that her children will grow up to be decent people. Not a life I would wish on anybody, but a life I would expect to be the result of a marriage law.

Wonderful job!

Wow. That was quite the ride. It would have been completely unbelievable for Draco to have been redeemed, or for Hermione to have fallen in love with him after the horrific abuse he put her through. This ending really suits the fic. Hardly happy, as the title of the last chapter acknowledges. Really angsty. But really fitting. I love that Hermione hasn't become broken. She loves her children, she's doing what she has to do to survive, and she knows her limits. But she still resists Draco to the limits of her ability. This is a pretty devastating tale, very well told. I think you did an amazing job with the premise of the original fic.

Wow, this was really well-written, thanks for posting this. I like these kinds of relationships (just not in real life).

This last chapter was so aptly titled. It seemed Hermoine only hope for a life of her own it to pray for Draco to die and I don't think that will happen anytime soon. He will stubbornly live a long life just to torment her. Is this the end of the story?
