BP: 112/100? WTF! The first number is you systolic pressure, the pressure the blood exerts on the blood vessels when the heart pumps it through them and on average, the number is 120. The second number is the diastolic pressure, the pressure the blood has on the blood vessels when they are "dialated" or in between heart beats is, on average, about 80. What you just described is someone who has the systolic pressure of a sleeping or coma patient but the diastolic pressure of someone who just finished a 100 meter dash. Also the average resting pulse of an adult (give or take 2 bpm) is 70 bpm (beats per minute). Even if he does have a fast heart or is stressed or in pain, if he's asleep, it should be a little lower than that. I am sorry about this rant here...I am a premed major in college about to take my MCAT next semester.
