Ms_Figg - I don't know if anyone else has pointed it out to you, but I believe that Neville Longbottom was, in his childhood, feared to be a Squib until his uncle accidentally dropped him out a window. Neville bounced, revealing his magical abilities...so I think your use of this float thing is just a logical extension of that phenomenon.
Excellent use of "Slyterinishness" as well.
Cheers, as always

*wipes her tears away* well, THAT was how the loss of Fred Weasley, Dobby and Tonks and Lupin should have been mentioned !!!!!! And THAT was what Snape deserved !!!!!

Oh, one more thing, I love your description of an "older" Hermione. It's not often you get a realistic view of a 40 yr old woman -- they seem too often to have perky breasts????? I'm over 40 and know that nothing is perky! So I'm loving a more realistic description. I like young hermione too, I don't descriminate, but older is more interesting. I had to put this in after reading another review.

Hi! Just found this fic and read it all in a couple of days - really enjoying it and hope you write more soon. You've got some brilliant ideas and the story is very cleverly put together. I'll keep an eye open for the next chapter!
