Ok, the end of this story. Now time for some "R&R" (Rod and Rose's story, right? (smile))I hope we hear more about them, even if it's a short story.

Hi Lucy. Thank you so much for your well-thought out and well-presented review. Yes, this story was a definite change of pace, due to DH and my own feelings about Snape. Firstly, his death, and secondly the revelation he was driven by love. In this story I had the added bonus that I knew that Severus was capable of love, a deep love. Coupled with it being unrequited, I had a view of a Snape that wanted love. This required a different approach, since he was a different man. Coupled with Hermione marrying Ron that made it even more of a challenge. He had to be moved out of the way to make the story happen, and I compensated for that by making his and Hermione's marriage a true one, based on real love, not an arrangement of convenience. As far as the many plots, when I write, I have kind of a world view. No world revolves around two people. Hermione's children were important, then we needed some conflict, which Rod and Voldemort gave us, as well as a catalyst for Severus to be revealed to the public. We needed to look into their lives too, since they were central to Hermione's life as well as Severus'. And they couldn't always been seen in relation to them but as individuals and to break up the monotony. Since this story was a romance, the focus on the lemons were minimal, but important. There was no way to rush this without it appearing to be a cheap run toward porn. Love had to develop in a reasonable, believable manner. I was a little out of my comfort zone with this story, thinking about the readers that like it fast and hot, but I decided slow and steady, a reflection of real life would work better, so I approached it this way. The real basis of the story and climax were that Severus and Hermione connected and fell in love, admitting it to one another. After that was achieved, it was over. Certainly I could have continued, moving into Rod and Rose's story, but it wasn't really about them, but our favorite couple. Yes, A New Beginning was quite different, but all in all, I'm satisfied with it. I'm sure I will still produce the hot, carnally driven stories I have in the past, but this was something different and rather special to me and I'm glad I wrote it. Snape received everything he deserved, at least in this little universe. Thanks again, girl. ****

Oh this makes me happy and sad all at the same time. Happy because I get to know the ending but sad because its over and I enjoyed reading it. I bow to your greatness and you are now and forever my faviort Snape/Hermione writer.

I believe that I have read all of your SS/HG fan fiction. I must say that these Christmas chapters are absolutely your best intimate scenes, out of the very many, that you've written. These were simply outstanding. They were steamy and emotive, as usual. But, this time there was just something more to them. They were incredibly well written. Kudos!

What a graet chapter. I like it vey much. If I am right we are in the end of January and there will be the St Valentine soon...
