Alright now, I'm getting sick and tired of everyone treating americans and ignorant morons! Alex, you don't even know the person that wrote this story. For all you know they could have been british. Also, I don't remember anywhere in the stories where it specifically says where Hogwarts is. From what I gather this is just a fanficfact. Since Hogwarts is part of the magical world, what prevents it from being near London in the first place.

Uhm, Hogwarts - near London?! Hogwarts is nowhere near London and in fact not even in England but in Scotland, exactly on the other side of Britain. I'm assuming you're from the US or otherwise rather unsure about British geography? Your description is a bit like saying "Las Vegas, near Washington"...
