Lucius as a houseboy? Only as decoration. I don't believe any housework would be done. Anyway, he would be great as a bedwarmer. A good chapter.

Oh, that was priceless! Lucius in marigolds (washing-up gloves) - what an image! Though I think he was perfectly justified in throwing a strop over the frilly apron.
Laughed out loud at his toast-making technique - poor boy, he really can't *bear* to lose face, can he? So characteristic that everything has to be done perfectly, right down to the shape of the pancakes. (Minor Britpick - it's very unusual to have pancakes for breakfast over here - or indeed for any occasion other than Shrove Tuesday. For no good reason - I think we should eat them more. Yummy.)
I like your justification of the suspense - of course, it's NOT suspense! Just...mild edgy anticipation. LOL. That'll come up in a film trailer one day.
