for A Year's Temptation

Somehow I missed the update for June, so I guess I'll review both June and July at the same time.

So June first:

My first thought at the end of the chapter is that Ginny just screwed her marriage, and in the end they're both probably better off. They seemed to have one of those marriages where your content but not truly happy, and a chance for greater happiness elsewhere would definitely put a huge damper on it. I'm glad that she left him, because in the end I think he'd be better off not married to her. The story doesn't really go into a lot of major detail about their marriage before this whole thing happened, but somehow it seems like he works harder at her happiness that she does at his and than he does at his own happiness. But then again, it seems like he does that for pretty much everybody, maybe that's the problem. He probably doesn't feel like he deserves to be truly happy.

And Pansy, blah. Out of all the people in the story, I really don't like her. I do feel that Ginny could have done better, either by completing accepting the situation or not. Though she has done that now, made a solid decision instead of waffling a bit. Though maybe I shouldn't talk, it's a difficult situation to be in and I'm sure she tried to do what she thought best. But Pansy is being vindictive and just plain nasty. And too self-assured, and quite stupid like Draco said. You don't push someone you know will likely not take well to it. Even if she could completely control the man, I don't know how she got the impression that she could control the 'beast', as you could call it. Especially when it's been pretty much established that only the mate can 'tame the beast':) She needed to accept it or not, but that attempt at blackmail and manipulation is just low.

And now to July:

I think Harry starts to show how screwed up he is in this chapter. What he's doing with this 'enemy', it's like he has a death wish. And his reaction to Draco. I think it shows the potential that Draco has to heal him, I guess. He needs help, and as much as he's latching on to Ginny, she can't help him.

I was glad to see Draco working Pansy. Hopefully she'll get hers soon, and Draco and Harry will be at least free from that threat. He looks like he's on his way to having that worked out and then the most eminent threat will be this 'enemy', though he's definitely more of a threat threat than Pansy. I hope someone finds out soon, because this is just not going to turn out well if he doesn't get some help. No one person can handle everything on their own. You need people to help and support you, and you need to allow them to do so. I guess that's what Harry needs to learn, among other things. And this thing with Draco might give him the chance to see that it's okay to let someone else be in charge, it's okay to let someone else take care of you, it's okay to be vulnerable.

And now I've turned into an amateur psychologist. So I'll shut up now and end with, I love this story and I loved these chapters. And I hope that Harry is happy in the end. I hope they're all happy in the end (maybe minus Pansy, hee hee), but definitely Harry especially. I think I feel for him most in this whole thing. Turned in every direction, trying to make everyone happy in a situation where that is impossible, and completely forgetting about himself in all of it. I hope we'll get a happy ending.

Oh and I want to add, Go Draco for that present. It's perfect for Harry, and it obviously involved a lot of thought and time and effort, and it a good way to show Harry that he has someone who feels he's worth it. He needs to feel and accept that he's worth some extra effort

Hi there! I was rec this story and I'm really glad that I was! I love this story for many many reasons. One - and the most important reason - is that you are not Ginny bashing! I cannot STAND character bashing. *shudders* Everyone is always so quick to call Ginny a bitch or a slut or a child or anything else they can think of that it really makes me sick. I've stopped reading stories that turned into a character bashing one. Especially one that does it to Ginny. And you haven't - IMHO anyway. You have portrayed her as a loving wife and fully supports her husband, but now is in a situation that is tearing her apart. I don't blame her. How would *any* woman feel if her husband was with someone else - no matter WHAT the circumstances were? If my husband or bf *ever* cheated on me - there wouldn't be a second chance. He'd be gone - or I would. I know Harry is only doing this to save Draco's life - as well as Ginny does - BUT it doesn't change the fact that her husbands dick was touching someone else. Now add to the mix that she sees Draco falling for Harry and Harry for him. How the hell she is *suppose* to feel??? "Oh, it's ok. I know you love me, but go ahead and fall for someone else and I'll understand." *snorts* I think not. I've seen RL actresses that refuse to do love scenes because their husbands hate to see them with someone else - acting or not. They are stll swapping spit. (Johnny Depp felt guilty for kissing Keira in Pirates btw.)

Another reason I love this story is because of the torn emotions everyone is feeling - Especially Harry. He knows what's right, but can't help feeling *something* for Draco and it's tearing him up as much as it's tearing up Draco *and* Ginny. And Pansy...? *shakes head* What a coniving little woman she is. I feel so bad for Draco. If I was him and she did that to me.. I know I'd probably wouldn't have been able to get it up! I was surprised *he* did!

The last reason is because I love Veela fics, but sadly most of them are alike. Yours, however, is more realistic. Everyone is fighting it (which I love) and it's more complicated - like real life is. This is not a "You're my mate and we'll jump in the sack and then Harry falls in wub with me even tho I've been a dick to him." *gags*

Thank you for a truly wonderful and refreshing story. I am anxious to read the rest!

oh dear... If Draco is going to have Pansy killed Harry is deffintley going to suspect him. I diden't expect this of Pansy. I thought she would go to the papers after the divorce that was just waiting for to happen. But it seems quite stupid to try and blackmail Draco, he is a Malfoy. Has been a deatheater also. She should be surprised if he diden't try to do something back. Maybe she is expecting that? But still, having a fake-marrige like that.. how anyome could want to be married to someone who despise, and now in this case, hates you. Perhaps she dosen't want to lose her face in their circels, being left for a man nonetheless. her selfassurance must have hurt. Or maybe she loves him in her own way. Anyway, can't wait to see what will happen to her.

It wasen't that suprising Ginny leaving Harry.
She has talked about how Harry being a veela's mate is affecting her, but not Harry. It feels like she is only thinkng of herself, and not giving Harry the support he needs. As soon as things get though and is not to her liking she leaves. She is acting lika a spoiled child. Harry tries but she dosen't, she just takes and are not giving at this point. One can understand she is not happy with the situation, but she isen't even willing to work on their marrige.
And it fells like Harry has this idolised pitcure of her, and I can see him staying with her because she is a link to Ron and Hermione.

I love this story, it's well writen and have a great plot. And it is moving forward with each chapter. You have potratied this characters extremley well.
I am happily waiting for the next chapter of this amazing story.

In this chapter almost everyone is in denial -land.

Really very well written, a fascinating story, great plot...I really like it and hope you continue it, you are a very good writer, so much so, in reading it you flow, there are no harsh finalities (which is hard to explain) or errors which leave the readers hanging. Great Job! ;-)

This is getting really good. To many stories stories start out good and then fizzle out. Yours just keeps getting better. Poor self-centered Ginny. Draco should be very happy when he finds out that she has run home to mommy and daddy instead of supporting Harry.

No! Harry is so F***ing annoying! And Pansy is even worse. I hope she suffers, and that someone gives Harry a good clobber over the head.
