I think that you are doing a wonderful job with this story, still managing to show the effects of the war on Harry's psyche while still giving him the ability to assert himself, and sometimes, even at random moments, he still has a sense of humour. I think that that ability of Harry's to still dig a solid personality out of such broken despair is an important part of his character, and you've shown that beautifully.
