If I was a purest I'd say follow the movie and kill the kid...good thing I'm not. I think Harry would do everything he could to protect the innocent, so my vote is to let Ali live. Great chpater and I'm looking forward to the next one.

Ali should live. Harry likes the kid and Fate has already fucked with him enough. That and it will give Jack someone to fall in love with/have crush on besides Riddick.
