You have a nice concept, I mean at least I think so. As far being a poor writer, I don't think you are poor you just haven't developed enough not to rush certain aspects of the story. I am guilty of that, LOL I think its' good so far and I look forward to more. Ignore flamers...some people are just rude.

This chapter was a very beautiful one.
Maybe you can elaborate a bit more on the bonding,
but the rest is perfectly fine.
I liked the way Dumbledore handled Ron and Harry.
