Excellent first chapter. I would love to read more.
In the end, you ask "is uncle vernon not eating dinner tonight"
shouldn't it be "is dudley not eating dinner tonight?"
It just dind't seem to fit...so..yeah..
Please keep writing. I hope that you don't change Tom's personality TOOO much. Remember that he is a slytherin...manipulative and self serving and extremly intellegent (before he went mad of course). I don't want him to be Terrible to harry...but...you know...you can't make him sappy either..otherwise he just would not be tom riddle.
Will Dumbledore realise that Harry isn't staying at teh Dursleys...will he still go to hogwarts if he and tom go to the riddle house?
I hope that he goes to hogwarts..and i would like to hear some of their conversations about it.

oh please oh please continue, i wish to read more, it's very good. and at fiorst i thought you ment that he would get the diary in his second year not his first. but this works awsomely. hope to see an update soon. ^_^
