Sweetie, don't let the where-in-the-heck-is-this-headed blues stop you from playing around with this terrific story. As I'm sure you know, quite a lot of good stories just get abandoned! You're too good a writer to do that to us. Technically strong authors with creative stories to tell are too rare.
