Hermione needs to watch her back. Then again, a Wiccan friend of mine lives in a rather 'Unsophisticated area, and I once asked her how she ogt by with her more 'righteous' neighrbors. Her reply was classic: "Oh, I just shoot back."

'Odius Titwilder'? JK herself couldn't have come up with a better name! I understand her reasoning, but I am sorry about the elf. And I think the minister is in for a shock when she finds out about her envoy's mistreatment. There are certain diplomatic courtesies involved that he's trampling on.

Voracious Reader: Yes, I faltered when this scene came to me, but forged through it. House elves would definitely move Hermione, which was why she tried to get rid of them quickly before she could feel anything concrete, anything that might touch her heart or soul, which is pretty much the same thing. So, when the elf responded to her perceived kindness, she felt she had to protect herself. By just killing such an innocent creature, it shows how dark she really is. I think it's worse than killing a human being in some ways, because we can at least surmise if she kills anyone, it might be deserved in some way. But the house elf was a complete innocence. Her only justification is her own selfishness to keep her powers, and maybe her own life because of her situation. Is her life worth more than a house elf's life? Well, some believe a life is a life, regardless of its station. This is going to be some story to write. Sigh. Thanks for commenting. Oh and Odius Titwilder? lol. It just came to me, but I do have a funny reason for it. You'll see later in the story. :))
