It's pretty hard to enjoy a fic as dark as yours... But I can kinda see what you mean about how Severus is portrayed. I'll read the companion piece before I make up my mind on anything too much.

i did enjoy your story although it was a bit sad. i don't know about you, but i have very little use for cannon in the world of fanfiction. To me, the whole idea of it is to place the characters in different situations as you see it. If people want cannon then they should read the books! Anyway, who's to say that by jumping Hermione wasn't standing up to Severus.
