That's okay Snivellus - revenge is a dish best served cold. Hermione - don't worry that nasty Slytherin will get his comeuppance!!

Ch9. Very bad Snape. Even though she agreed with the binding, surely that's rape.
What a welcome indeed!

I wish I could tell all of you that "Oh Severus is so wrong for what he's doing" but that much is obvious. Rape is wrong, but that doesn't mean it doesn't happen, non-consensul sex...happens. I'm not going to attempt to justify what this cold, dark Severus does or input my own morality into it. This is a story, a journey and not a pretty one, and I'm going to tell it the way it comes to me as I always do without any apologies. If it upsets you then I am doing my job with these fictional characters and situations. Please try to remember writing it...is not condoning it OR condemning it. I can just see it happening in my mind's eye, fair or not, nice or not, right or not and just go there, and for the most part trying to figure out why it is happening the way it is. You as the readers have the real reaction, I only provide the circumstances to react to. I'm not about to say I'm sorry or I shouldn't have gone there when life itself goes everywhere including the deepest, darkest most unsavory places. I appreciate my readers, God knows I do...but if a story is just too squicky or morally reprehensible to you, please don't subject yourself to it. I've started this tale and am following it through based on what has preceded it. I will continue to do so. In other words, you can keep dropping bombs on me about it, but I'm still going to write through the fall-out until the piece is completed. How I feel personally however has nothing to do with writing the story and I do my best not to put my values in it, whatever they are or well, I probably wouldn't be able to write. I'd be stumbling over or sidestepping every uncomfortable or unsavory situation. I like to get kneedeep in them. And Marquetta, to address your question "Why can't there be some sort of clause in the patron agreement that lets her keep a modicum of self-respect and power?" I can only answer the question with a question...why did that innocent child get killed by a stray bullet while sitting on the front step playing with her dolls? Why did the wife of a stable, loyal man run off with a no good bum? Why do bad things happen to good people? Why are we cruel to each other? It's because life is not remotely fair. Yes, I am the author and I could play the ideal god and make everything fair and equitable...no hurt, no pain, no conflict...but then there would be no realization or growth in the telling of the tale or the fictional characters. I would never finish the stories. But I do understand how you feel. I just can't do anything about it except let you express your feelings, which is fine with me. This is the first and last time I will address how Severus rapes/and or "takes advantage of" Hermione. I will be raising the shields now, currently operating at 86% power. Thanks for the honest reviews.

Ch 8 - Dear heavens that was a fun chapter! I never dreamt when I read the word 'Fabio' that Hermione would be so brazen and brave. LOL I also enjoyed Severus' threat against Marcus. I'm surprised Sybil didn't make her move. Looking forward to the next chapter. You always entertain.

LOL! Raucous seems a lot like my cat, Havelock. I love him! (Raucous, and Havelock of course) Rude, crude and unattractive. The ideal familiar for Severus. Let's see how he recovers from his stunning by mean ol' Hermione. And how will Severus wriggle out of the fact he 'owes' Harry Potter? Well writ, now on to the next chapter I go...
