I see that I forgot to review these two chapters the next morning like I said I would. So here's the review for Chapter 30 first. Well he's still not ready to acknowledge to himself that he really cares very much about her and what happens to her. Of course, he didn't fully trust her and her motives until he followed her into the woods and watched her perform the 'purification' ceremony. At least I guess that's what it should be called, since it was for atonement and to be forgiven any sins she had to commit to accomplish her mission. I think he now trusts her fully as far as where her loyalty lies.
As for Chapter 31, it was good to see him do something silly for a change. The snow angels were a good idea. The kiss, once he finally got around to it, was reminiscent of my favorite kiss in the movies. The one I waited what felt like eons for, when Mark finally kissed Bridget in Bridget Jones's Diary.

Awwww...true love's first kiss! Wonderfully written, as always. So, does Old Voldey have a crush on Aurora? That would make for an interesting plot twist and perhaps a little jealousy from Snape? Hmmm...just think about it. Update soon!

I did appreciate the reference to Dover. I've been to the castle and to the tunnels below. As a fortress, it's the most impregnable I've ever seen. The day we went there was Sept. 10, 2001. The next day we were in Canterbury and heard a TV in a pub as we walked past. We went in and were shocked to see what had happened. About two minutes later we saw the first building come crashing down. It was the last day of our tour and the farewell party they gave for our group was very somber that night. We had another week planned over there visiting friends in Yorkshire so were we fortunate, we were able to get the flight we had originally booked to get back home.
We went back to England in 2003 and visited friends in Sandwich before going to Shropshire, while we were there we walked on the White Cliffs. That day the temperature hit the 90's, the sky was clear and very blue, and the Channel looked like the Caribbean. We hit the heat wave that caused so many problems in the summer of 2003.
Only a tiny minority of places in Britain and Western Europe have air conditioning, the only place we found it was in cars. The heat did a job on me, I was used to Yorkshire weather and when we left the states I was looking forward to nice, normal days in the 60's & 70's and cool nights. We are going there again this September, this time to the Lake District. That's north of where we were assigned in Yorkshire and in mid September they should be having autumn weather.
Now to review this chapter, all I can say is hurry with the next one, I'm anxious to know what happens. At least what happens after she follows 'He Who I Find Most Tiresome's orders. From what you've inferred so far, I won't find the orders anymore pleasing than she will. You created a very creepy and ominous aura, that's not easy to do well.

Intriguing, now her next step must be to go to 'He Who I Find Most Tiresome' and profess to be a loyal Deatheater. But i'm stil anxiously waiting for the romantic connect between Severus and Aurora to flare up and for them to at least share a real kiss. It's something like the wait for Bridget & Mark to finally kiss in 'Bridget Jones's Diary'. I hope the reward for the wait is as good as that was.

I enjoyed this chapter, the humour in it lightened the tone after the last 2 chapters, I like the words 'Ordering' and 'Death Eatering', they do help to describe his busy life, as does the "stewing over how to save his sorry ass from a certain 'unbreakable Vow". The jack'o lanterns carved as likenesses of the faculty was a clever idea, I liked the way you fit the gourd/vegetable/nut to each person's personality.
He's obviously smitten, but he can't see it yet and neither can she. For that matter, I think she is smitten too and hasn't realized it yet either. I hope it won't be much longer before things heat up between those two.
