Chapter 9: Yes!! I'm so glad you're continuing with your 'battle of the the sexes' tussle between Lucius and Hermione. I loved how Lucius was behaving in such a schoolboy 'get even' way. It's in line with the Lucius character you've drawn for this story. It was a nice touch to have Brutus give Hermione some home truths.

A FISH fight? That was so funny, having them both descend to a fistfight type of interaction before Hermione does what she's been wanting to do all along. Are they going to go at it on the breakfast room floor amid the kippers?

I really like where you're going with this. The marriage law you chose was original; most of the time it's the same exact "Pureblood must marry a Muggleborn" scenario.

From what I see, grammatically at least, it doesn't look like you need a Beta all that badly. However, if you let me know exactly what you're looking for in a Beta, I'm sure I can fill the position for you.

I am displeased with what Lucius has done to Hermione by tricking her into marriage. (you'll be pleased to know! :D ) And I've been rooting for Hermione to get him back, but I wondered how this was going to work if I only despised him. (being L/Hr and all) Worst case scenario, Hermione would fall in love with sex and behave as if it is the only thing that matters and smut smut only smut. (yawn) You've avoided that by giving us a peek inside Lucius and letting us have a little sympathy for him. He's still a bastard, sneaky, ambitious, slytherin, but at least he really saw something in Hermione other than a toy and a ways to a means. I like the glimpse of hope that he had for being with her, that he might have something real and affectionate and that he was looking for more than he had with Narcissa. You also illustrated really well how he didn't really know how to go about winning her any other way, like there is a huge gap in his emotional education. That really follows with how a relatively smart man would get hooked up with Voldemort. He has room to grow and a bit of potential to do so. I'm so looking forward to seeing what you do next.

Ch 7-8 - this story is fine without a beta! However, it's not fine if Hermione doesn't take a good look at her future - a sexless and hostile marriage? I sure hope she's willing soon to talk about ways to improve their situation, for both their sakes. Thanks for updating!
