Hermione sure isn't being too supportive, is she? It serves her right that she;s "cut off." I'm dying to know what Sev is going to buy from the twins - perhaps some charms to turn other students into carbon copies of other staff members? I'd love to see tons of little Argus Filches running around :)
Have you ever read A.N. Roqueslaire's (Anne Rice) "Claiming of Sleeping Beauty" trilogy? It would be very interesting for you to place Hermione and Severus in that setting, you'd get some lively reviews...
