I love Diana Wynne Jones. She's such an awesome writer! Have you ever read Fire and Hemlock? It's one of my favorites, along with Crown of Dalemark and the Chrestomanci books. Anyway, I found this to be a very good read. It's got lots of voice, and no bad grammar (one of my main problems with unbeta'd work). Very cute, and a successful one-shot!
