I loved this story, interesting, witty and fascinating by turns. I've been delving into HP fanfic for the better part of a year now. After having sampled HP/DM, seguing into HP/SS (yummy), I've decided to give HP/LM a try. This story has whetted my appetite for more and will be the first HP/LM fanfic to join my HP slash collection.
Another story I've read points out that some of the most powerful wizards of Harry's day were all mixed bloods, giving the lie to Voldemort's crazed vision of a Pureblood world. Harry's mother was a muggleborn witch, Hermione's parents were muggles, Snape's father was a muggle and Voldemort himself came from muggle/witch parentage. No one would say that these people suffered a diminution of power from their mixed heritage so Voldemort's goal was flawed right from the start; anyone with sense could have seen that.
Your story made me consider all of this during Lucius and Harry's frank discussion about muggles and their place in the wizarding world. The segue into Harry's drunken rant and subsequent fall into Malfoy's bed were excellent and made me wish there were more chapters in this story.
