Please keep it dark, despite some people's reservations. I think it's developing into a great fic (it already is) :) And I can't say how much I love you for your update rate...for all your fics :D

Ch 6 - definitely dance-time tonight! As for Dumbledore setting up Severus for a monthly torture - hmm, could Severus set up his own "evidence" from Dumbledore's false info, so Severus can avoid the torture? More dancing, please!

Interesting view on Severus. I just adore that you are able to switch gears and see everyone from a different angle. I most enjoyed your chractersiation of Albus. I see him much the same way actually. You are an artist Figgy. Kudos to you!

Ch 1&2 - Ah Hermione honey, run, little girl, run! This professor is much more than you bargained for. Not good for your story but the truth.

Dear Ms Figg!!! I feel I have dealed you a grave injustice!!! I haven't reviewed in ages! And such great writing should be acknowledged!!! What with Christmas errands and other goings-on I have been reduced to a quick online read a few times a week!!! Can you ever forgive me?! You can imagine my elation upon discovering that I would have this night to myself! Hubbies at work and the rugrat is with granny for the weekend. Can I give a quick shout out to all the grannys- God bless you grannys! So here is some long over due praise on your wonderful works that I have barely been able to keep up with! Maid in the Devil's Manor- luved it! Man, that Eli was the bomb! And all the pre-Hermione stories with our young Severus, one word- HOT!!! And this story is awesome!!! Very dark, but incredibly sexy!!! I wish I could take Hermione's detention for her!!! That scene against the dungeon wall was- WOO DOGGIES!!! Man, that was one time I wished the ol' hubbie was here!!! All glory goes out to you, Ms Figg!!! Know that all you write is a superb work that never leaves your readers wanting!!! Ch 3&4 - Yes, Albus, you had a part in creating that man but then you aren't exactly lily white yourself, are you? I have to admit, I feel sorry for Hermione in this one.

I feel a bit like Hermione at the moment, knowing that I absolutely shouldn't be finding this arousing, but wanting to know want might happen all the same.


This is a bald-faced dark fic, and I like that your Snape doesn't make excuses for himself. I personally find it rarely believeable when writers start out with a remorseless Snape who somehow "sees the light" at the hands of a good woman by Chapt. 7. I also think that authors tend to forget that Hermione may be very mature for her age, but that she still only has a teenager's perspective and is limited by her experiences. Your H. seems believably age-appropriate to me.


Your characterization of Dumbledore is spot-on. I tend to think of him as much of a manipulator as Voldemort, in some ways, or at the very least just as ruthless. No one who "twinkles" so much can be for real ;)


But really, you don't need me to validate your story ;) You're a fabulous writer and I look forward to what comes next.

I sincerely love Evil Snape, but I have to admit there a kernal of Hufflepuff/Gryffindor in me that believe in the Redeemable Bad Guy underneath it all.

By the way, do you ever sleep? Not that I'm complaining, of course, I just wonder how you manage to be so prolific.
