It was truly wonderful to see you've posted something a little different. This piece is absolutely *fucking* wonderful. This story really touched me and makes me sad knowing that there are men out there right now that will die alone cause of that stupid disease. Keep up the brilliant work - I was looking forward to another chapter of Hols, only to find this gem.

Very insightful. You seem to know too much about the inner workings of a hospice. It gives a reality to your story that is simply too sad. Beautifully written.

You know, I never read death fics. Ever. But, I saw that this one was from you and decided to give it a try. You made me cry and you made me smile. Thanks for such a lovely bit of melancholy fluff. May we all be ever mindful of what we have and what we've lost.

My twin sisters fiance died from AIDS 15 years ago this month. Until I read your piece, I didn't know the emotions of losing him were so close to the surface still. Since then I have lost other friends to AIDS (some gay, some not). I wanted to thank you for an apparently very necessary cry.
