I like how Snape manages to make his reputation as a former-or-maybe-current Deatheater the pinnacle of the deception, rather than cook up phony charges of Hermione's incompetence or something. Refreshing that he doesn't mind besmirching himself a little while getting Hermione fired. Perhaps Ms. Skeeter can concoct some other innuendoes between the two which will leave Hermione shocked (temporarily, anyway) and Sev starring in the role of oh-so-innocent comfortor?

Really enjoying this...Severus thinks he'll get Hermione to himself simply to get the Curse cure but know he's going to get so much more! I'm looking forward to them getting to know each other- again- in a new way!

Evil! Severus, for all his brains, is still pretty stupid. When Hermione finds out -- and you know she will (she will, won't she?) -- there will be hell to pay.
