This slew me when I first read it and it still slays me now. It's a masterpiece. Beautifully written, well-shosen words, nothing redundant - tight ROn PoV and all crisp and urgent and infusedwith your Ron's practical, loving spirit. And the "She's us too" STILL reduces me to a puddle of emotion.

I know your work, don't I? Where have I seen you writing before?
Anyhow, this is definitely a cut above what one finds here - very well-written and Ron's sensual PoV is great. I love the description of Hermione's Look, and his concern for Harry in the internal monologue. But the line that blew me away?
"She's us too, mate."
She's us. Wow. Simple and powerful and more eloquent, for its very simplicity, than you can imagine. Love the adjective "gruffly", as it adds - well, rawness, earnestness, makes it not just pretty words nut an inalienable, undenaible truth.
She's us. I shall cherish this realization you have made me come to forever.
