I have to agree with your A/N\'s asessment of Snape but this was extraordinarily well done anyhow! I can\'t wait to read more of what you write!

Although quite dark, your fic was very well written and emotionally evocative.

I do have a question... You wrote:

The idea for this was originally spawned by his actions at the end of HBP, where he physically harms an emotionally distraught innocent for the first time ever.

To what do you refer? I fear I may have missed something. If you have the time could you drop me an e-mail and enlighten me?

Thanks!

Since you\'re openly soliciting any and all types of criticism, here\'s my two cents worth:

MY main beef with this story was not necessarily the over-the-top evil characterization of Snape, but rather what you\'ve done with Hermione - turning what should be a brave, intellectually gifted young woman into an almost spineless victim. Unfortunately, you\'re by no means the only fanfic writer to do so. True, you\'ve presented your readers with little background to the story and their relationship, so maybe she\'s had a lobotomy of which the readers are unaware, but I find it a bit disappointing that Hermione would simply slink away out of some sense of political correctness rather than exact some sort of revenge preceded by \"Why the fuck didn\'t I realize earlier what kind of brute he is?!\" epiphany.

The absence of any eroticism whatsoever in this story is, of course, obvious and perhaps intended.

Please don\'t be too hard on Rowling just yet. I have a sneaking suspicion she\'s got surprises up her sleeve which will be revealed in Book 7; she\'s hinted at Snape\'s redemption more than once in media interviews.

Well written if vicious...but you said that. Just because someone might not like the content of a story does not mean it isn\'t well written. I think your author\'s notes sum it up well. You did a fantastic job of making Snape truly blind with rage. Thanks for having Hermione have the courage to leave him. Well done.
