This is a deliciously sly set up. Your extraordinarily self-serving Lucius is absolutely great. I totally loved the reaction to Doris\' scream of fright... such sweet music to Lucius\' ears! That was hysterical. I laughed at the perfect cruelty until I couldn\'t see the screen. I really look forward to your updates, and I\'m delighted you\'ve decided to damn the torpedoes (HBP, in this case) and full speed ahead!
On a concrit note, your tenses are all over the place (present, past and past perfect) and sometimes even within the same sentence. When I started writing prose I did the same thing, but I now have a wonderful beta who catches all my mistakes (you should see the flog marks on my back!)
