yay you updated. looks like i missed it for a while though. oh well. the only dialogue parts are interesting. who are they talking about?

I like it. It's obvious you've done research, too, which is awesome, and spelling, grammer, ect, are pretty darn good. The bits in between with the unidentified people talking are frustrating, though, because the imagery is kind of vague. Also, I don't understand the introductin piece; I feel it's set somewhere after everyone gets to school, which is where you're headed to now, right? If so, then I'm not confused and I'll just wait for more and see the tale you weave.

What creature is that in the introduction, anyway? I don't recognize it from the bestiary I have.

It's been a while since I've read the Potter series, and I normally don't read Potter fiction either, so forgive me I don't understand or remember some of the stuff that goes with it.

Anyway, great job!

P.S: I like longer chapters (If you read my story, Picking Wildflowers, you'll know that) but if the things in your story are overly described, it's not a good chapter, you know? Just go with the flow is all I can say.
