I personally do not think Lucius is out of character; seeing as we know so little of him in the fist place... Personally, I love your idea of Lucius without the drop-dead-gorgeous asthetics; it makes him just that little bit more human. (BTW, have you ever read the Anita Blake series by Laurrel K Hamilton - there is a character with a very similar appearance to Lucius in that series.)

Your house-elf seems to have a very good vocabulary and sentence structure in comparison to the house-elves that JKR writes, most of the house-elves in the books talk like yoda from star wars (kind of simple and backwards). Apart from that, the second chapter was very good and has me captured in the plot.

It is somewhat alarming that Lucius is viewing Hermione like you would look at an exibit in a museum or art gallery... but after all this time with no contact with anyone (BTW - how much time has passed since the torture he suffered?), perhaps he is as curious as a tourist?
I'd love a shampoo that washed your hair for you! My hair is incredibly thick and half way down my back! (think Hermione without the curls and frizz)... if only that shampoo existed, with conditioner to match! I'd be in heaven (or, my boyfriend would pull his usual stunt and pinch my shampoo for his own use...)
This chapter was a pleasure to read.

I had wondered what made that eye useless - I had presumed it blind.
You write that the scars are purple - is this similar to the scar Harry sports on his forehead?
Instantly, your description of Lucius playing the piano reminded me of Davy Jones in Pirates of the Caribbean II - the same way he poured his heart into the piano. My boyfriend plays too, the house could fall down around him and he wouldn't notice until his fingers froze to the keys!
Once again, a pleasure to read.

I am a real wuss when it comes to roses - one my boyfriend exploits on special occasions - I'd have melted on receiving one of those blooms!

just read the prologue--what a great concept! He's always gorgeous in fics--I don't think anyone even gives him a dashing scar. But to make him children-scaring ugly is impressive--you're forced to take him in new directions.

Hi there,
I just wanted you to know that this story was one of the first fan fics I ever read. And I sat by the computer, completely enthralled and read it all the way through in one night. I really loved it, and it started me with this love for fan fiction stories. Of course I never left a review. Back then I was much to shy and didn't want to give up my voyeur status. But now that I review all the time, I wanted to come back and tell you how much I enjoyed your story. Thank you for making me love Fan Fiction! And Bravo for writing such an excellent story! You inspired me!

I finally was able to read this story. I am in love, I'm going to keep it in my favorite folder and read it over and over again. I love how vulneriable (i'm bad a spelling at 11pm) Lucius has become. I'm going to start reading the sequal.
