I\'ve been reading this story since you posted the first chapter. I only have one question that niggles at my brain, LOL. The metal band/shackle that was imbedded in her skin when they first rescued her, they could not remove because it had to be removed by her owner. Is it still there or did they figure out how to remove it? Did it pop off once she identified Snape as her new master? I just don\'t remember it being mentioned again after that early chapter...
Great story, dark and sad, but really interesting IMO.

I\'ve just read this for the first time, and have to say, excellent job. I really like the job you\'re doing with Snape, and all of them for that matter. The bit with Umbridge is highly amusing. Please continue soon. I would like to see Hermione rediscover herself.

I\'m delighted to see that your holiday revitalized you, and very happy to read this most recent chapter. I\'ve always thought that Umbridge was as evil as Voldemort, more so in some ways. She wasn\'t a vigilante, and had the weight of governmental approval behind her sadism... a very chilling thought in and of itself.
Your Harry is terrific... the fact that he can be cold to Umbridge and his fear/worry for Hermione are terribly endearing. That he and Severus are working together -- albeit awkwardly -- is written with all the awkwardness that their shared history has. And I laughed aloud about the house-elf. Especially the part about it making him feel better to have kicked something... and telling it to heal itself. That was just brilliant.

Okay, I admit there are really dark parts and issues in this story, but the (mostly) subtle humour you\'ve laced it with make it an enjoyable as well as a satisfiying read. I really look forward to the next update. Have a Happy Birthday :) *snorks...house elf...onto my head. snigger*
