Ch 1 - nice start! I hope you show us later how Severus felt the night her parents and brother got killed by Voldemort - if Severus tried to get help, then he must have known that Hermione had just lost her family. Did he have any concern for her then? Looking forward to more chapters.

Great beginning. I can\'t wait to read more. I like the idea that she is not so enchanted with Harry & Ron. I like tha idea that she was not an only child. Gives her a bit more family knowledge. Keep it up.

You might wish to fix some things that are very much out of canon: Hermione\'s second name is \"Jane\", according to Jo Rowling herself, and Hermione is probably an only child. JKR said she toyed with the idea of giving her a SISTER, but figured it was too late now. Other than the canon issues, this is a decent start.
