A very interesting installment. I found the ping-pong dialogue between Remus and harry snapping back to Hermione and Ginny a little difficult to follow at first, but I was able to eventually figure out the flow. It was very amusing to see the two being taken to task at the very same time from two separate angles. Especially while Hermione was still trying to recover from whatever her parents had revealed during their closed-door session. I guess she kind of forgot that her parents would be having sex still, huh?
The acceleration of Ron\'s and Luna\'s relationship is a nice touch. Given what has happened previously, Ron is obviously maturing, if slowly. Of course the discovery of the \"play-room\" in the last chapter may have forced his hand. I really liked how this couple is growing; most of the development is off-screen, but the effects are still seen.
As to the meat of the story, you referred to it as Dark!Harry. I think I would disagree with that statement. Yes, he is not all fluff and light, but he is not evil, which is what I associate with Dark!Harry. He is overly mean to Cho (good). But that is to be expected; she broke his heart last year. She was his first crush and she pretty much used him to connect with Cedric\'s ghost. She continued to belittle and insult Hermione, and of course she is the one who brought the traitor Marietta into the DA. So I can easily see Harry wanting a bit of pay-back or petty revenge while testing her resolve. I mean she is really once again using Harry. This time she is offering up her future in order to be there when Harry takes down Voldemort. But she wants to be there for Cedric\'s memory. And no matter how dark Harry was acting, he still arranged for Cho\'s tests to be a bit more private than necessary. It was not a Hogsmeade weekend, and Cissa made sure that no students approached them as they traversed the castle itself.
I was happily surprised at Hermione\'s involvement in the second test. I have been awaiting her participation in Cho\'s debasement ever since Cissa pointed out to Hermione that Cho would be beneath her in the hierarchy. But for Hermione to participate in a sex act in the hallowed grounds of a library? That does seem a bit odd :-)
The third test is the only really odd part. If only because as the reader we are surprised with the concept that Harry has warned his retainers about each of them using Cho. And again, Tonks is a secret, yet she is involved. Yes, Cho is lasting, but she still could have chickened out. If she did, Tonks\' status would have become public (as would have the level of Hermione\'s involvement). And I cannot see Dumbledore allowing Harry to memory charm Cho if she did change her mind.
Anyway, this was a fun, if a bit darker in tone chapter. The events fit the characterizations and growth of the interaction. I again eagerly await the next thrilling installment

Okay I admit it -- I am not a fan of Cho, but the way you are setting the board has got me intrigued.
Firstly, I like how Draco still does not learn. Hermione is going to kick his ass in any fair fight. I like how Snape decided to shake up the class with pulling the names out of a hat only to have his plans go to hell with the very first draw. The concept of a random pairing does beg the question: what would happen if Harry were to face off with Hermione in the class? Would either pull their punches? I mean it would not be like Harry taking on Neville seeing as Harry and Hermione are beginning a very serious relationship.
Harry\'s enforced punishment of Hermione was a necessary eye-opener of Harry. I think the boy has finally realized that she is a sexual creature and that he is attracted to her and her to him. His response to finding out about the plug was quite humorous. I do wonder when Harry will acknowledge the fact that his thralls have been calling Hermione \"Mistress\". He does not seem to notice this fact; and it is important -- they do not call anybody else this title so he should pick up its significance.
Cho\'s interview was interesting in two major points: the first was Harry\'s response. He seems to be overly antagonistic to her. I wonder why? It seems his response is a bit extreme for what they went through as a couple the previous year. The second point, and the more telling one, was Hermione. She is accepting of Cho\'s request. This is an obvious surprise to Harry, only because he has not had the same conversation with Narcissa. Hermione is looking for a bit of payback and being able to put herself over the \"pretty\" seeker. Although I was caught off-guard that no questions were asked about Hermione being involved in the interview process. Tonks had to be hidden since her status is a secret, yet Cho accepted Hermione sitting in on the meeting and actually casting the deciding opinion.
Anyway, it will be interesting to see the next few chapters. The next big showdown of course will be the meeting with the Grangers and the explanation of the acceleration of Harry\'s and Hermione\'s relationship. And after that, we can look forward to Cho\'s initiation and her treatment at the hands of her new master and mistress.
