The torture scene was nicely inventive (oozing, ha!) and I thought your characterisation of Snape was great - spot on with his determination not to give Voldemort any satisfaction whatsoever. Nicely original story too - don't think I've ever read a Snape as wolf story (and I read a *lot* of Snape Lupin) so kudos there. The little touches of flashback here and there are good too, it helps the characters exist for more than just the duration of the story (if that makes sense!)
You're work doesn't scream for a beta like some of the tat out there as its pretty well-written and coherent. However I did spot a few little spelling errors that the spell-check wouldn't have caught (eg and instead of wand where Snape goes to grab it from Malfoy). So if you ever need anything beta'd feel free to drop it by the above address, I'd be more than happy to have a look for you.

So far so good, I don't think you really need a beta, at least not for this chapter. I hope you update quickly, this seems very good so for a first.
