I just discovered this gem of a story tonight and have devoured the first 4 chapters. I am hooked. I especially liked the beginning where you started the story out with an action scene. The characterizations are facinating and the plot compelling. Draco as a spy and a black sheep wanting to come back into the fold is a common theme but you have tackled it with a fresh idea and a good balance of drama and desire. The scene where Draco kissed her fairly burned my monitor. You did not need more than that pivotal kiss to catapult the plot foreward. I am blown away so far adn am going to delve into the rest of the chapters with as much zeal. Kudos to you my dear for making my evening a most pleasurable one for having read this.

Wow. This story has been beautifully written so far! The characters are complex and creatively developed from the book. The story line shows h anh and creativity. And the relationship between the main characters is gorgeous; it is passion without excessive smut, emotion with a source (no "and then he just suddenly fell in love with her for no apparent reason"... there is history and thought put into a very intense relationship!), a creative and driven storyline. This has been SUCH a pleasure to read! I look forward to later chapters!

This is a beautiful fic. I just started following it recently; I generally don't read fics that sound particularly epic in the summary--they often involve an incredibly painful lame ass!Voldemort and ridiculous cliches--or summaries that don't tell you what pairings are contained within--that's a sure way to get something really squicky like Hermione/Hagrid. But this fic is....wow. It's well written, well plotted, and emotionally involving. My one quibble is, as one of your earlier reviewers said, that the jump from Hermione screaming at Draco in the forest to sleeping with him in the span of just a couple chapters is a bit much- the then I'm really not one to complain about jumping right to the smut. Anyways, I jusntednted to congratulate you on writing such an excellent story, and encourage you (though you clearly don't need it) to keep writing. Thank you for posting!

Hey, just wanted to tell you great job with this story. I've been looking for a story like yours for some time now. A fic set against the upcoming war is the only way I can see Hermione and Draco overcoming the cannon obstacles to their union. The fluffy he-desires-her-for-no-reason-at-all fics drive me bananas. Anyway, you also seem to want genuine criticism for you writing, something which earns you endless credit in my book. I have two observations to make. First, you start out brilliantly with the scene in the forest but then you follow it with Hermione tumbling into Draco's bed. There's no real plausible explanation she could have got from emotional point A to emotional B. It seems rather forced to me. I took that on faith and you didn't disappoint me with the rest of your story. Which brings me to point two: time turner sematics. I understand you're breaking new ground with Hermione-present meeting Hermione-past, but wouldn't Hermione experience Hermione-future's entrance before she left? Sorry, I'm having a little trouble grasping the time paradoxs this involves. In conclusion, you rock. Keep writing!

Great story. Well in character, good pacing, mercifully correct grammar and syntax and spelling. Nice story arc, very visual scenes. Go, read, enjoy! Looking for more from this author.

This was an exceptionally well written story. You kept the characters in character, definently pulled some heart strings and made it clear that the good guys do suffer during wars. The time turner became obviuous the first time Dumbledore made the time comment to Hermione but honestly you pulled it off so well that there was nothing trite about it. I loved the skipping ability and Harry's fight with Voldemort was excellent.

This is the author, and no, I\'m not reviewing my own story. Before this site went kablooey, this story was posted under another login (same pen name) and in the course of trying to edit it, the entire thing, chapters one through seventeen (at the time) got totally screwed. So I was forced to delete the story, which included all the reviews. Luckily, I managed to save the reviews--I copied them before I destroyed the file, intending to repost them when I reposted the story. Some reviewers took a lot of time with their review, and I\'d hate for their time to have been wasted. (That, and it gives me a happy to read my reviews, so everyone, REVIEW!)

I like your story. I love the portrayal of the characters especially Draco. He\'s dark, brooding, and yet sweet. And the concept of the \"mark\" is just brilliant. Shows how much he loves Hermione. It would be great if you would incorporate Hermione\'s thoughts and feelings about Draco in the next chapters. And the smut was beautifully done. Draco\'s very very good! ;) Hope to see more of this fic.

I don\'t mind not getting smut sooner as long as the plot is good, and this fic has a good one. I hope you conitnue soon! I love how you described Hermione\'s thoughts on the issue. It\'s sad that she doesn\'t share Draco\'s fate. And I\'m worried what that Lucius Malfoy will do. Keep em coming!

Had I found this sooner, I would have reviewed each chapter as you posted. This is a superb story, tightly woven, visually impacting, and emotionally explosive. Just wonderful. Your tease in chapter one was excellent, and the taut control of Draco in his clandestine existence is beautifully crafted. The characterization of Hermione is extremely well done, she is exactly as she should be several years down the line... smart, loyal, courageous, and a worry-wart. I have only one small query, Draco is so paranoid (with good reason) and he wants Hermione not to trust anyone... doesn\'t she worry about having told so many Ron/Harry/Dumbledore/Kingsley/Moody... granted of this group, I guess Kinglsey is the only one I would be curious about. I\'m eager to see where you plan to take the journey -- there are so many possibilities with this story that it\'s entertaining all by itself to wonder what you\'re going to do.

Clever, and very nicely crafted this 8th chapter... yes, 've 've answered the how many she\'s told. There was something a little desperate and on edge about Draco the daring, and it gave their scene together a heightened sense of fatalism blended with a small touch of hope -- very poignant. It\'s very clever that you\'ve had them be honest with each other -- she about who she\'t told and he about the marriage mark. Just a touch of real nobility to your Draco.

Hey Morrighan.... read the whole story (not just the first chapter) so I can finally give you my critique... I thought it was excellent, you really were true to the characters and the world that JK Rowling set up, which I thought was terrific! I thought yours was so good, that I thought maybe other stories would be really good also... LOL... so I read about 10 other stories...OMG.... some of these guys STINK!
I thought you did a great job of creating sexual tension, and then during the sex, did a great job of showing love making, not just sex... You even made Draco fuckable, and before this I never thought of him that way (I have only ever read the books, and since in the books he is only 15 and a weenie ass 15 at that).... It was HOT!
I especially cracked up when you described his scent as mountain spring fresh and then made the crack about bottled water... just before I read the crack, I thought to myself....NO WAY , this sounds like a soap commercial for Irish Spring or something.... heheh... I liked your bottled water crack better.... I am now going to have to search around on this site and see if I can find any other fan fiction that I like even half as well as yours.... believe me, if I didnt like it, I wouldnt have taken the time (or used my real email address) to critique you... My only complaint is.... WHERE IS THE REST OF THE STORY (and you better not take 2 damn years to write it, like JK did with her last book)
Bambu oldnwyz@yahoo.com 2004-07-20 id # 253493
Excellent battle sequence, and the completely believable weight of responsibility that Hermione carries. I ownder just why there were so many Death Eater\'s and so few of the Order... it seems as if there might have been a failure to communicate somewhere along the way... I do hope Seamus isn\'t dead. I\'ve always liked Seamus. And, where o where is Draco?

It just keeps getting better, which I usually wouldn\'t say in stories where Draco and Hermione are separated. Great job! And the speed of your updates outstands me. This is a very nice escallation of tension between protagonists and antagonists. In good writing, the antagonist needs to be more powerful, more terrifying, and more deadly than you can imagine your hero to be... that way it is your hero you pull for hoping that he/she finds that last bit of nobility, of sacrifice, of strength to pull thorugh despite the heavy odds. You\'ve captured the soul of that tenet and poured it out onto the page, in a heartbreaking fashion... well done.

Very nice escalation of tension and build to what appears will be the penultimate skirmish. Who will be lhearheartbroken. I certainly hope it\'s not Draco and Hermione... of course I\'m a romantic at heart and somehow it\'s difficult ot read about tremendous sacrifices made by a character and not want them to gain in the long run. I like Dumbledore\'s comment about time... it reminds me of when Hermione and Harry saved Buckbeak. And there\'s a small part of me that would like to see Hermione give Draco her mark... so that he can withstand enough to survive. Of course... I await each update avidly.

and here i thought i might just of had that luck to read a new freashly finished fic. alas, it was nearly at its end but not quite-making that wait all the worse.
first though- l believe an error. in chap 17 you said harry was 23. however in chap 1 you say they are 20/21 (malfoy disappeared in 6th yr not to be seen for 4yrs).
but otherwise very good. i havent been to aff.net in awhile due to its history of unavailability , so im always thankful to be on those mls that point out good stories to you.
i really liked how the two hooked up though it seemed a wee bit to fast but when thinking about it it got rationalized. i just wonder if that girl clerk saw hermione exit/enter and was jealous.
seeing lucius there at the side of the throne in that condition just created such a strong image of horror and disbelief. quite effective.
dumbledore being what he is...and i do wonder if what i thought he did through the mark is what i believe he did..
and i wonder if hermione\'s mark will come back to life on her back when she saves his life or will it have to be done again.
another thing with reading a fic pretty much all at one go is that you kinda forget all those details the moment you are trying to comment on them right after. but nonetheless i enjoyed this story and do hope to see its conclusion soon. thanks.

and here i thought i might just of had that luck to read a new freashly finished fic. alas, it was nearly at its end but not quite-making that wait all the worse.
first though- l believe an error. in chap 17 you said harry was 23. however in chap 1 you say they are 20/21 (malfoy disappeared in 6th yr not to be seen for 4yrs).
but otherwise very good. i havent been to aff.net in awhile due to its history of unavailability , so im always thankful to be on those mls that point out good stories to you.
i really liked how the two hooked up though it seemed a wee bit to fast but when thinking about it it got rationalized. i just wonder if that girl clerk saw hermione exit/enter and was jealous.
seeing lucius there at the side of the throne in that condition just created such a strong image of horror and disbelief. quite effective.
dumbledore being what he is...and i do wonder if what i thought he did through the mark is what i believe he did..
and i wonder if hermione\'s mark will come back to life on her back when she saves his life or will it have to be done again.
another thing with reading a fic pretty much all at one go is that you kinda forget all those details the moment you are trying to comment on them right after. but nonetheless i enjoyed this story and do hope to see its conclusion soon. thanks.
