I\'ve only just read this piece, and it\'s very different from your other viciously humorous work. This is superb. Snape as the consummate predator is brilliantly characterized, his barely restrained lethality mesmerizing. That he has become an assassin as a result of desperation born of harsh cruelty is superbly depicted here, and that the long term results hollow out his soul is heartwrenching. Then, to have Severus become humanized by the luminous quality of Hermione\'s purity is a lovely counterpoint -- especially as you\'ve done a marvellous job of keeping his need for her well within the predator\'s realm. Truly, this is a glittering, faceted gem of a read.

It's one of the most disturbing things I've ever read. Dark, enchanting and seductive, I simply adore it. Please do continue.

well, all that counting is irritating and yet it does sound like good old chuck in a few places. somewhat refreshing. but snape didnt need to kill him, he could have stupefied him, but i know, he wanted to do it. anyway, its a little foggy, but all all ok.

Hoo--Dark!Fic!
Yum. Perfectly executed. *LOVED* the counting. Set arhythm, a cadence that seemed to flow as part-of-the-story-but-yet-not, like internal monologue atop internal monologue.
You have, at times, made me smirk, made mece, ce, made me laugh, made me angst.
In short, nicely done.
(Thanks for the good review of "Amor Serpens" by the way!)

I do not usually review but I had to write and say how much I am enjoying both this and your other stories! Please keep adding to this particular WIP. You have portrayed Snape as I imagine him - dark yet not totally beyond hope. It is proving to be a very absorbing read! I also love your other stories - especially the tale of a (very rare) accurate Trelawney prediction - some of the images gave me a much needed laugh. Well plotted, well written and enjoyable stories - if only more fanfic was of this quality. Cheers! Angela.
