Interesting start. I am vimprimpressed with the way you have illustrated feelings of compassion in Snape without making him OOC. It\'s a tough line to walk. You have managed to maintain all of Snape\'s outer snarkiness (Is that even a word?) while at the same time giving him an inner emotional depth.
I also enjoyed the way you introduced your OC. We get to know her gradually through Snape\'s eyes. Your characterization of Dumbledore was spot on as well.
Another thing I really enjoyed abouis sis story was seeing the events of the books from a different perspective. We have seen the sorting ceremony how many times now through Harry\'s perspective? It\'s fascinating to see familiar events from the books from the completely unexplored perspective of the faculty. To me, that is what makes fan fiction so much fun.
As always, the pace and tone of your writing are excellent. I\'m looking forward to your daily updates.
