I love stories this mushy. Always. I enjoyed the first four chapters (think I saw it posted on ffn once, and this was as far as it went then, too, I think). I do hope to see it continued.

O.k., I will try REALLY HARD to not project too many of my own issues here *sniff, whimper*.
I love how you have demonstrated Snape\'s affection for Rebecca without turning him into a spineless mass of goo.
I love that your Severus is able to love Rebecca unconditionally and exactly as one would hope a parent would love; between you and me, I hope you keep it that way.
I love that your \'Becca recognizes what a gift it is to find positive parenting role models in BOTH Minerva and Severus, especially as you haven\'t turned either of those characters into caricatures or, um, spineless masses of goo.
I love that you have shown us the dumb luck that often plays into being a good parent (the scene where Snape bought the vanity tray was priceless) while also showing that parents -- regardless of when they become parents -- are constantly dismayed by the far too speedy passage of time (which passage seems a snail\'s pace to the children involved, ironically enough).
I love that Rebecca is able to appreciate Snape\'s role in her life without making her out to be a spineless mass of goo.
I hope that you continue this sweet tale in the same way it\'s gone so far. It is anything BUT a spineless mass of goo.
After two marriages, abuse and an impressive number of liaisons, my mom finally introduced me to the man I will always adore and consider to be my dad. I was 12 when we met.
Shortly before giving birth to my first child, this wonderful man made my place as his daughter legal -- giving me equal rights to his two biological children-- shortly before asking my mom for a divorce. nev never wanted me to wonder how he felt about *our* relationship, you see. Even though my mother and he are no longer together, he will always be my real dad -- biology, tenure, and/or age notwithstanding. Your story hits me right in the heart. Bless you.
And yes, I am a spineless mass of goo.

I just read all three chapters tonight and I am really looking forward to more. I can\'t wait to see what you have in store. I loved how Severus \"helped\" her evil parents along their, er, well death. I can very much see him there, as they yelled for help and completely ignoring them. I think he used a great amount of restraint throughout that situation--let\'s face it, Snape could have done a lot worse to them!! But this is a really really great story and I am hoping to find more chapters available soon. Please email me whne you do update--- tiaoconnell@yahoo.com I would really love that! Happy writing! ~Tia

What a sweet story! I can sympathize completely with Severus. I have four children, all in college. One has flown the nest. I too can cheerfully extend the waiting period for the rest to finish growing up and leave home. It always comes too fast, even though that\'s what you raise them to do, hopefully.
The last part of the chapter made me tear up.

I enjoyed the second chapter every bit as much as the first. I think it is very much in the spirit of canhat hat two years of abuse have passed and this child has not received any help. Even now, Albus seems to be reluctant to intervene.
In canon, no one at Hogwarts receives help unless it serves Albus\' purposes. Luna was more or less tortured by her housemates, Slytherins are permitted to bully muggle-borns, and Snape is permitted to bully Neville. Snape himself was humiliated by the Marauders regularly. It seems to be a Hogwarts tradition going back as far as Moaning Myrtle. I\'m eager to see how Albus will handle the situation when Poppy and Severus bring it to his attention.
May I recom tha that you change your summary? I think many people may be under the mistaken impression that this is a love story between Snape and an OC, and are are missing out on something unique. Just my opinion.
Well done. I\'m looking forward to chapter 3.
