OMG...you have got to be kidding me. A friend of mine from school told me about this fic, and i came here to read it,nkinnking i\'d skim the reviews first to see what others were saying. i have to say, if your that thin skinned that a few negative reviews make you and your friends insult people and tell them to fuck off, or to blow their heads off, or call them names, then u have no business putting fics online for others to read. OMG...I cant beleive your so petty and immature. so what if someone doesn\'t like your story and says why? i didnt see anything wrong with what there ere saying. seemed like no big deal to me. u got a bad review. big fricking deal! not everyone will kiss your ass on the net. who cares what they think? thats no reason to go putting them down and calling them names and telling them to kill themselves or whatever. grow up and grow a backbone. dont bother uploading your stories to a site thats public like this one if your so insecure that u and your friends cant take a negative respoand and you react the way you have. how fucking childish. i know kids in my high school that are more mature than you.

I am saying it isn\'t rape. Rape is forced, I don\'t think any court would convict him (concerning the 1st chapter, if it was real I mean). And for the 3rd chapter, it\'s not even debatable. That wasn\'t rape. Regardless, Vertex labelled it just in case, so this chick comes here, not only flaming (and as restrained as it might have been in its wording, that\'s all it was) but going out of her way to mention the fic elsewhere to get others to agree with her. If the fic didn\'t appeal to her, and she certainly could tell what it was by the summary, she should have not read it. There\'s a flame war because dumbasses with double standards are popping in. If I had done exactly what she did here to one of her fics, her and her type would have been telling me off for how uncalled for it was, but somehow she justifies her hypocracy here.
Yes, JK had gone after all adult fics, but slash specifically was the core motivation that was expressed regularly in the media. I\'d look for articles, but... meh.
I wouldn\'t have said shit or started this \'flamewar\' if the people dissing Vertex\'s fic just said they didn\'t like the story and thats it. Arianrhod went farther than just saying she didn\'t like it and I\'ll defend the fuck outta someone being rode on by a hypocrite like Arianrhod. I hope when I\'m 30, I have the time and lack of life to run around dissing fanfiction clearly made for people who have different tastes.
PS: Sorry to anyone ELSE (not Arianrhod) who I offended with my anti-slash tirade. I don\'t really hate slash or most slash fans, I just got pissed. When I see slash I respect the author and just move on to the next fic instead of getting on my high horse about how much it goes against canon and flaming it.

SlytherinDamien:
After seeing your latest comments I can hold more respect for your point of view.
I still disagree about whether or not the events depicted in this fic are or are not rape, I personally believe they are but you are entitled to your opinion as well.
Let us just agree to disagree on that point and I believe I will merely disassociate myself totally from this fic and the arguements involved with it.
Regards, the Exaggeration.

You must understand that when a normal person reads a bad fan fiction they just leave and not give a page of disapproval and write an article on livejournal just to put the author down. That is uncalled for. I am not one of Vortex

\"As selyne pointed out, homosexuality isn\'t a character trait, it\'s a genetic one, so making a character gay isn\'t making them OOC.\"
God are you a complete moron or what? Whether homosexuality is genetic or not is irrelevant.
Explain to me how taking a character that is straight in canon and turning them into a gay/bi character \"isn\'t making them OOC.\"
Even if you ignore the gay aspect of it, its not like you\'re pairing him with Ron or Seamus; Harry/Lucius and Harry/Snape. What\'s next Harry/Voldemort? Would that be OOC yet?
You\'re lucky that every person who considers your stories OOC don\'t leave flames as reviews, if they did flames would outnumber actual reviews 50-1.
Fortunately most people are intelligent enough to simply move on.
To Vertex,
Ignore the imbeciles and move on with your delightfully OOC Harry.

Dana,
>Dear B ( that\'s a very imaginative name, btw )
Why, thank you.
>Are you a fucking moron?
No, actually, I\'m not.
>After we almost made those two pricks Arianrhod and Hyperbole ( who flamed this story without reading it - he just thought he had to agree with Arianrhod )shut up
>you had to bring this shit up again?
\"Made them shut up\"? This is how you deal with literary criticism? Flame them to \"make them shut up\"? What are you, twelve? Do you write? I certainly hope not, because heaven forbid someone call YOU on your unimaginative prose. If you can\'t deal with criticism, you *should not post in a public forum*. It\'s as simple as that. The review forms are for exactly that - reviewing. They\'re not there so that your ego may be stroked. If your fic is shit, people are going to say so. And if you can\'t deal with that, well, too bad.
I find it amusing that all of Vertex\'s little friends have rallied together to overly praise what is (even discounting the blatant oblivious amorality) a truly average fic. You all remind me of high schoolers. The dialogue is cliche\'d and trite, there\'s no real plot, and the use of a thesaurus would work wonders. Even ignoring the fact that it\'s horrifically misandrist, it simply doesn\'t deserve all this fervent praise and defence. Have we hit a nerve?
I\'ve \"brought this shit up again\" because I found this fic and felt disgusted enough to say so. Deal with it.
>Kindly do the world a favor and go shoot yourself in the head.
Very mature. Why are you so upset? Are you Vertex? Are you taking this personally? Have you also written something as painful as this, and now feel insecure?
Pertaining to the Livejournal group: I happen to think it\'s an excellent idea. To know that there are people out there who actually care enough about the fandom to defend it from deluded, self-important \"writers\" is a motivational tool. I was under the impression that feedback created a better writer - if you know where you\'ve gone wrong, you know not to do it next time. I guess some people are far too precious about their own egos to actually care about becoming better at their craft.
I was flamed, once. I laughed, because I was given no comments as to WHY the reviewer disliked my work. I just a ona one-line comment about how \"nasty\" it was. So you know what I did? I ignored it, because it was unconstructive. What I DIDN\'T do is gather together a group of my illiterate friends and flame that person\'s well-written and carefully planned work, as I see you children have done to Arianrhod. I hope you\'re all proud of yourselves. Grow UP.
Arianrhod explained WHY she found this fic offensive, and so did I. It\'s called feedback, and if you post publically, you\'re asking for it.

I have never read a more steaming heap of crap in my life - and believe me, I\'ve struggled through some BAD fics. Seriously, what kind of world do you live in? Is casual rape without repssiossion or remorse normal for you? You find this erotic? Not only is Harry *painfully* OOC, but you\'ve made him into a total creep without sufficient reason, you\'ve made Hermione a victim, and I won\'t even START on your shocking prose.
Do the world a favour and sort out your head before you even attempt writing again. I\'m revolted.

Oh, for fuck\'s sake. *rolls eyes*
I read this story. I didn\'t like it, and explained why in what I thought was a rational manner. Even in my LiveJournal (the address of which is in my AFF.net profile) I said that I held out hope that Vertex could eventually write something positive, and that presented both the characters and sex in a better, more normalized light.
My review here was not a flame, and anyone with any sense would have seen that. It was my comment on why I didn\'t like the story.
As for my writing of slash, and the whole \"in character\"/\"out of character\" debate, for the record, my characters tend to be bisexual, except in one story arc-- my Delicate Boy series-- where Harry is actually gay. As selyne pointed out, homosexuality isn\'t a character trait, it\'s a genetic one, so making a character gay isn\'t making them OOC. And for me, I write slash for a simple reason-- none of the female characters in the books, apart from Tonks, Luna and Bellatrix are even remotely interesting to me. There\'s more substance with the men, so it\'s easier to write fan fic with them involved with each other. Plus, I think it\'s hot, so it\'s my choice.
Oh...and for the record, I\'m a 30 year old woman, not a guy. Get a grip. Most slash is written by women.
Please, just get over yourselves. I said why I didn\'t care fhe she story, and I did so in what I considered a calm manner. Some of you should seriously look at your anger and vehemence in response. That kind of anger, over words on a website, isn\'t healthy.
